Obedience is a sport recognised by the FCI in 1990. In obedience, we want to see a team of a dog and its handler, enjoying themselves in these 10 exercises. We don’t want to see typical “military” obedience. You will see exercises such as distant control or scent and retrieve work, in which a dog must find the article that belongs to the handler. Because they are so obedient and well trained, all these dogs make wonderful citizens in everyday life. Sixteen nations are already practising this sport according to the FCI rules.
It is very important that the dog enjoys obedience as much as the handler does.
After each exercise has been completed, the three judges will be grading the obedience performance at the same time (from 0 points minimum to 10 points maximum).
